Pittsburgh & SWPA Campaigns and Initiatives
100% Committed: The Future is Renewable
On May 19th, 2018, The Climate Reality Project and its Pittsburgh & SWPA Chapter held its first 100% Committed Training day. More than 60 chapter and community members joined us at Frick Environmental Center for a day of learning how, as a region, to move away from dirty fossil fuels and towards clean renewable energy.
The training featured both technical details about how the region can make this transition possible and critical campaign skills to help organize our communities. The training resulted in the launch of several campaigns that will be moving forward in the coming months.
We'd like to thank everyone for their generous support, which made this event not only possible, but free to attend!
If you were unable to attend the training and want more information about this important regional campaign, we have provided the slides from the presentations given at the training by Alissa Burger of Pennsylvania Environmental Council, Annie Regan of PennFuture, and Zaheen Hussain of Sustainable Monroeville.
Please also see the list of regional partners that are also working on 100% renewable programs. These local groups and leaders are eager to work with our chapter as these campaigns advance.
