Victor got a BA from Georgia Tech and an MA from Pitt in Chemical Engineering. His classes were geared to working in the oil and gas industries, although he thought when he went into this field that the programs would be flexible and allow him to work in all types of energy markets.
He has come to love Pittsburgh and would like to find a job here that fits with his concerns and background. He fights for climate change in SWPA because he “loves this city” and he wants to preserve it. He loves the trees, birds, bunnies, and change in seasons in Pittsburgh. It’s a "solid city with a back to nature feel."
Pittsburgh is a very different environment than Miami, FL where he grew up. As such, he has seen the devastating effects of climate change first hand. “It is not a debate any longer and we should take action.” He a Climate Reality Pittsburgh & SWPA Chapter member because he hopes to learn more about climate change and ways to combat it. He’s found everyone in the climate advocacy movement to be very passionate. He sees much activity going on in the region and he hopes to work with Climate Reality and other local environmental organizations in order to do some good while he's searching for a meaningful job post-graduation.
